Starting School
(For children born between 1st September 2019 to 31st August 2020)
Primary school applications will be open from 17th November 2023 and close on 15th January 2024. It can be accessed via the Calderdale Admissions Website

We invite parents/carers whose children are due to start school each September to have a look around our school. Tours are conducted during the school day by the Headteacher so that parents/carers can see the school in action on a typical busy working day. We pride ourselves on tailoring our tours to the needs of our prospective families and therefore will show you around in small groups and limited places will be available for each tour.
Each tour to take up to an hour so that a real insight can be gained into life at Barkisland CE VA Primary school. We would also strongly recommend that young children do not attend these tours.

Starting School at Barkisland
Starting school is one of the most important milestones in a child's life. It is a very exciting time both for the child and the family but may also provoke lots of questions too!
If your child is due to start school, appointments can be made through the school office to meet with the Headteacher and have a tour of our school. These appointments can be made from September to December the year before your child is due to begin school.
