Welcome to Year 3!

We are having such an exciting year in Year 3! Below you will find out some important information about our class.

PE Days: Tuesday (Indoor) and Thursday (Outdoor). Children should come to school in their PE kit, consisting of: blue PE t-shirt, shorts or joggers, Barkisland hoodie and suitable footwear.

Reading Books: Some children are continuing on Monster Phonics and will have a group guided reading session each week. They will take home their Monster Phonics book after their session and this needs to be returned one week later. Those children who are free readers (have finished Monster Phonics) will take a reading book home from our class library every Wednesday (to coincide with homework day). Free reader reading books are to be returned - if they are finished - the following Monday. 

Homework: Homework will be set on a Wednesday and will be due in on a Monday. Homework will be set on Seesaw (Talking and a reading comprehension) and one or two activities will be set on MyMaths.

Uniform: Please make sure that all uniform, book bags and water bottles are clearly labelled with your child’s name, especially cardigans and jumpers, as these are the most common items to go missing! Water bottles must have a Sports Cap (e.g., no Prime bottles please).

Staff: Miss Walsh will be in class all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs Clark will be teaching all day Thursday and Friday. Miss Langham will work in Year 3 every Tuesday and Thursday morning and half a morning on Wednesday.
